TECHNOLOGY

Hydrothermal process technology converts and transforms organics/biomass into green sustainable energy and fuels.

Creating hydrocarbon feedstocks from our chosen waste resources would take nature’s natural process hundreds of millions of years, we can achieve effectively the same in 30 minutes and with Zero new CO2 Emissions.

The Process Technology is a patent-protected and unique thermochemical process where water is used as the medium for the breakdown and reconstituting of organic matter – at elevated temperatures and pressures, producing Green Recycled Biocrude and Renewable Natural Gas (Methane).

Researched, Developed, Patented, Licensed and Commercialised it is a unique suite of patented technology and processes and comprises of two principal technologies: Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) and Catalytic Hydrothermal Gasification (CHG).

Transforming and repurposing organic biomass waste into

Clean Recyclable Green Energy.

The original technology was developed to convert a wide range of organic waste feedstocks including wastewater solids, algae, food waste, MSW, chemical waste, and other organic wet wastes into renewable oil and natural gas, without introducing new carbon into the environment and atmosphere. As the process also removes all sulphur, nitrogen or siloxanes.

The Technology: At the heart of what we do

“We continue to review technologies and process development globally and maintain research & development projects in alliance with public and private organisations and academic institutions. This tie-up and relationship with an engineering manufacturer provide Windsor Energy & Resources with a proven world-class technical process and the ability to develop into the Sustainable Energy Company we strive to become”.

Abstract: The term “hydrothermal” used here refers to the processing of biomass in water slurries at elevated temperature and pressure to facilitate the chemical conversion of the organic structures in biomass into useful fuels. The process is meant to provide a means for treating wet biomass materials without drying and to access ionic reaction conditions by maintaining a liquid water processing medium.

There is no drying for feedstocks, and this reduces significant energy consumption and resultant climate impact.

HTP is a liquid sludge process and utilises a unique suite of technologies giving significant advantages over other developing technologies and those with a singular waste feedstock type.

Our Process comprises of two principal technologies: Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) and Catalytic Hydrothermal Gasification (CHG) to produce Renewable Natural Gas and or a Biocrude oil.

Operating at just below super critical temperatures (@350°C) and high-pressure (210 bar pressure) to convert organic material – biomass or organic chemicals into Green Energy, this thermochemical process has significant advantage and performance over other technologies enabling treatment of a much larger waste profile, completely eliminating residual waste and not adding new carbon back into the atmosphere.

Regardless of feedstock, the organic material is collected and processed in the hydrothermal system. This achieves a very fast conversion of the organic content into the selected conversion products.

The Process Concept:

  • Like fossil fuel formation, but significantly faster in 30 minutes verses 30 million years
  • The best proven technology for converting organics (wet) to true hydrocarbon fuels.
  • Process Platform is compact and completely scalable.
  • HT Process has so far been tested successfully on more than 100 feedstock combinations and with thousands of hours clocked processing time.
  • Liquid biocrude goes to further refinery upgrading into advanced renewable fuels and replacing fossil fuels.
  • Renewable Natural Gas – methane is methane and can either be compressed to CNG to fuel or Energy or with further refinery upgrading, into advanced transportation fuels – Sustainable Aviation Fuel.

Process Details:

  • HTP uses only pressurised hot water and no chemicals or solvents.
  • Feedstocks are made into a water slurry with 15%/20% dry equivalent solids.
  • Processes are not superheated/critical, which provides significant economic benefits.
  • The processes are a continuous feed and convert more than 99% of the feedstock organic content in less than an hour.
